Delete Your Account & Data

You’re always in control of your CourseIO data. This page explains how to delete your account, what that removes, and how to disconnect any third-party accounts you’ve linked.

Deleting your account yourself

Sign in and go to Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. After you confirm, your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out. If you cannot sign in, email privacy@courseio.ai from the address on your account, or use the contact page, and we’ll process the deletion for you.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes your login, profile, and your membership in every organization you’re part of. It does notdelete projects, courses, or uploaded material you created — those belong to the organization, not to you personally, and stay in place for the rest of the team. If you want an organization’s content deleted as well, say so in your request.

If you’re the only owner of your organization

We can’t delete your account while you’re the last owner of an organization — you’d need to transfer ownership to another member first. If you’re the only person on the account and there’s no one to transfer to, tell us that in your deletion request; we’ll delete the organization and its content along with your account rather than leaving it ownerless.

Timeline

Self-serve deletion takes effect immediately. Requests made by email are completed within 30 days of verifying your identity. Copies in our encrypted backups age out within a further 30 days. Invoices and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires and are not linked to a usable account.

Disconnecting your YouTube / Google account

If you connected a YouTube channel for publishing, you can disconnect it yourself, independently of deleting your CourseIO account: go to Settings → Publishing → Disconnect. This stops CourseIO from uploading further videos — videos already published to your channel stay there and keep their links.

To fully revoke CourseIO’s access from Google’s side as well, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove CourseIO from the list of connected apps.

Acting on someone else’s behalf

If you’re requesting deletion under applicable data-protection law (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or India’s DPDP Act) on behalf of someone else, or can’t access the account yourself, email privacy@courseio.ai — we may ask for verification before proceeding.
